Building a flounder gigging platform and bow fishing kayak set up. The lights I'm using are amber 40 watt lights qty 3-4 with a amp draw of 3.33 amps per load. The included wire on the lights is 16 awg. My plan is to use the y connectors to run two lights on the midship and two on the bow. Will soldering 16 to 14 awg wires present a problem if the load is not drawing over the rated capacity?

14 AWG will handle more amperage than 16 AWG, so it should not be a problem as long as you don't exceed the amperage of the 14 AWG of the switcher which is 15A
