No, the relay should handle 40 amps all day.
Can the relay handle 40 amps continuous? YP-LDR50 50 Amp Heavy Duty Relay Switch With Auto-Reset Circuit Breaker
My relay melted somewhat but still functions. I have another on order. It looked like it might have been a contact problem, but wondering if my motor guide xi3 draw of just under 40 amps was too much.
