The tape on the strips is 3M VHB silicone / Acrylic double side tape. The only other option is to use a adhesive promoter after cleaning. We use the 12.7 mm (.5") and trim the edge.
What is the width of your led strips? The adhesive keeps failing and I need to replace it with something stronger. LED Light Kits
I installed the green led light strips on my old town kayak and the adhesive is not sticking. I've tried cleaning it first, sanding it down a little, and you replaced it once. So I want to try to get a stronger adhesive and see if that will work. So I need the width of that light so I can order some. (The kayak is in storage for the winter)
