All Yak Power switchers are waterproof. We suggest putting a light coat of dielectric grease on the connector plugs. The relay box is full of an epoxy potting material to keep water off of the internal circuit board. That being said, however, mounting the switch so it is not bouncing around in the bottom of your kayack when traveling or sitting in water all of the time while you are out fishing is recommended.
